Maureen Denise McCormick is the younger daughter of Richard McCormick. She was born August 5, 1956, at Woodland Hills California. Her father taught school while her mother was a homemaker. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a gifted singer and performer from a young age. She perform shows using puppets for the neighbors. Her fairytale rise to fame started when she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest in the age group of six, which prompted an inquiry from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired if she would like to work in show business. McCormick got her first big task in 1964 when she appeared in a television commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show the play Wind It Up And It is Broken in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was picked from a field of 1,200 kids who auditioned for the chance to be the youngest of three towheaded girls on the new TV show The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with an unintended family. The show ran for five years. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice released in 2008, McCormick admitted that in the shows fifth season she nearly lost her virginity to her screen brother and co-star Barry Williams. At the time, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. She stated, but the time wasn't right for us.
